I don’t understand what the connection between Cryptozoology and NDE’s is supposed to be. The only problem with Cryptozoology that I see is with the culture surrounding many of these groups like the big foot enthusiasts. However investigations into different human species like the Nephilim should be of interest to Christians as well, as it would further prove the historical validity of the Bible.
Would add “Mindfulness” and Yoga

“Because when you say those words you mean everything that you are kin to. Not just those people who look like you, talk like you, act like you, sing, dance, celebrate, worship or pray like you. Everyone. You also mean everything that relies on air, water, sunlight and the power of the Earth and the universe itself for sustenance and perpetuation. It’s recognition of the fact that we are all one body moving through time and space together. “

These teachings are universal spiritual principles, as are the teachings, (not the dogma), of all of the world religions. When you truly love your God you love everyone’s God, regardless of what name you use, and by definition then you love all created beings.
You can choose this love regardless of the trauma and pain that life may have brought you. You can choose to be free from hatred. You can choose to accept Divine love and give of yourself with joy. You can choose to be the person you are deep in your soul.
How can you love someone with multiple names? How do you have the intimacy of love with namelessness and meaninglessness? How can you unite with truth and also falsehood?
I really really like what you say!!
I am an ex Christian and over the moon as I no longer have the need to worry about being told what to believe or what not to belieive. People need to start thinking for themselves, that is what I did and came out at a better end.
Tansy, two points:
1. Your conception of God may be in error. In which case I also reject your god.
2. Belief in God allows you to go on sinning. If you like to sin (especially sins of the flesh), disbelief in God is easy. But sin makes you miserable, and you will never be happy without God.
3. Finally, you will never have true love or purpose without Jesus Christ, since no other philosophy or religion promises what He promises. When you face death, you will have to answer for your decision now.
With respect,
Timothy
I find this post profoundly sad. As Mr. Flander’s says, all people need and seek God, whether they realize it or not. If you are an addict or profoundly attached to something outside of yourself, you’ve probably made an idol of that thing. If you think “you’re better without Christianity”, it’s because you 1) have a misapprehension about God or the faith from the start (as mentioned above by Mr Flanders) or 2) you’ve had your mind warped by the secular culture. But remember in the word culture is the word “cult”, so all you’ve done is swap one religion for another. It’s a crying shame that you chose wrongly, and took the side of the false one.
Could you please elaborate on Biofeedback? I’m a clinical psychology student at a Catholic-Christian program (Divine Mercy University). There is good evidence that supports the use of biofeedback for the treatment of ADHD. A quick read on the Mayo Clinic’s page can give anyone interested in a passing interest: https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/biofeedback/about/pac-20384664. I’m open to hearing how this could relate to the New Age – no doubt there are instances when biofeedback can be perverted for a New Age purpose, but I would hold that biofeedback per se is not inherently New Age. Maybe it would be more prudent to list some instances of biofeedback as being New Age.
I really appreciate this list and all your work Timothy! God Bless you and your website.
These are New Age traps, but not necessarily guaranteed New Age actions, although some are. I see what you are saying, but for example, I know someone who had a massage scheduled for a bad back – a legitimate physical therapy procedure – but the masseuse started “channeling energies” and things. Of course massage therapy is a proven endeavour, but it does lend itself to the New Age/hippy thing for some reason.
I hope that helps
Hello,
As someone with a past history of interest in UFOlogy, or at least UFOs and the “grey alien” so-called phenomenon, can you please explain a little further why this topic specifically this should be avoided? This isn’t me pushing back, in fact I have really moved away from this interest in recent years (perhaps not surprisingly as my religiosity has increased). However, I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this if possible.
Thank you and God Bless you and your Apostolate.
The main reason why it should be avoided is because it is sort of an esoteric trap, where the majority of participants deny the existence of God. I am not really sure how we could reconcile belief in aliens with the faith, although some have suggested it might be possible. Associated with all the theories are a number of theories that go against tradition and dogma, like the speculation about the age of the universe to a large degree, or more philosophical things like are aliens “persons” and do they need to be “saved,” which would cast doubt on Christ as the True Saviour of all Men. Again, it is highly speculative and not intrinsically evil, but it is a trap nonetheless.
Hello Kennedy,
Just as a follow up to the above thread, I was listening to this (and I am not sure what you think about Catholic Answers), but here is a link to an episode of a Jimmy Akin Podcast which considers the possibility of aliens and it’s implications on religious belief – see this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fm7V1nuuN8 – timestamp: 21:33.
In all truth, I don’t want to let go of my religious belief, even if intelligent aliens are definitively shown to exist. That being said, there is very much a part of me that still hopes they don’t.
Thank you and God Bless,
Phil
Ave Maria! If someone could please explain to me why Myers-Briggs is on this list, I would appreciate it because I am genuinely curious. Also, I think Reiki could be added to this list. I love your guys’ work and have read “Terror of Demons.”
Thank you. Myers is on there because it is often associated with deterministic philosophy. It is not intrinsically evil per se, however, it is part of the modern psychological framework, which carries with it a lot of gnostic pseudoscientific danger. We have the classical knowledge of the four temperaments as Catholics, which are far more accurate, and account for the reality of the soul, and also are subject to the perfecting nature of sanctifying grace. Unfortunately with psych frameworks like myers, it is a foundation in some cases for an attitude of “well, its my personality, can’t change it,” which can be an excuse for vice.
And you’re right, I thought we had reiki on there, it is bad news.
Ave María! Thank you Mr. Hall. That makes a lot of sense. As a theology and psychology student, I have encountered both the four temperaments and Myers-Briggs. I will use what you have told me to my advantage and the advantage of others. Deo gratias!
